Web Interface

The full version of Easy Automation provides a web interface that can be used to run and stop existing scripts, upload new scripts, access logs, and set settings on Easy Automation over the web.

On every page of the desktop version of the web interface there is help near the top of the page in a tan box. The help for each page describes what you can do and how to do it.

The web interface will change automatically if viewed on a iPhone, or Android based phone. Most of the details and the help are removed to make more space for the rest of the information. The links will also become larger to make them easier to use with your fingers. Despite these changes the pages all works the same way as the desktop version, so you can refer to the on-page help of the desktop verson to figure out what something is on the phone version.

There are a number of settings that effect web interface.

  • Web Server Ports these are the ports that the web interface will be available on. If the port ends in an 's' then then web server will required an https connection.
  • Web Server User Name if this is set then the web server will require the user to enter a user name to access the pages.
  • Web Server Password if set then a password will also be required.
  • Web Server Template sets the template that is used to render the pages. You can find more information on this under the Customizing topic.

  • NOTE - The web server can always be accessed using the Athyrium account user name and password. That combination is considered the be the administrator information for Easy Automation. This is in addition to the 'Web Server User Name' and 'Web Server Password' settings and can be different than those settings.

NOTE - If the web server is setup to use https based connections the browsers will complain about the certificiate being used. See the Customizing topic for information on how to change the certificated used to one specific for your company.

The web interface also provides important management features not found on the desktop client. With the web interface you can manage a script server. Create groups of machines running Easy Automation and push scripts to them.
